1. Eigtht Principles of Treatment Strategy:
1. Sweating
Induces sweating by stimulating and disseminating the lung Qi and regulating facilitating Ying and Wei Qi to make the pores open and pathogenic influences in the exterior or other superficial levels of the body can be released with the sweat.
2. Vomiting
Stimulate the stomach so that phlegm, stagnant food, or toxic matter stuck in the throat, chest, or stomach cavity can be expelled through the mouth.
3. Draining downward
Induces defecation to clean the bowels and expels pathogens with form through the rectum.
4. Warming
Warm the interior and unblocks the channels to dispel cold from the interior or the channels, thereby restoring the functions of the Yang Qi.
5. Clearing
Clear heat and drains fire to eliminate heat, fire, and their associated toxicity from the body.
6. Reducing
Reduces or eliminates clumping or accumulation due to the stagnation of food or other causes.
7. Tonifying
Tonifies by enriching, nourishing, augmenting, replenishing those aspects of the body that are weak or deficient.

2. Roles of herbs in formula
There are four kinds of herbs in a formula:
1. Chief (monarch, king)
Provide the principal curative action
2. Deputy (minister, associate)
Strengthens the action of the principal herb(s) and treats the secondary symptoms.
3. Assistant
1) Reinforce the effect of the chief or deputy ingredient or treat a less important aspect of the disease (Help assistant);
2) moderates or eliminates the toxicity of the chief or deputy ingredients, or moderates their harsh properties (Corrective assistant);
3) Has an effect that is opposite that of the chief ingredient and is used in very serious and complex disorders (Opposing assistant).
4. Envoy (Messenger, guide)
1) Direct the action to the affected meridian or area of the body.
2) Harmonize and integrate the action of the other ingredients.
About Dosage
All herb doses in formula introduced are row herb dose, and adult dose. If use concentrated powder, please pay attention the portion. Powder form formula may have high dose of each herb, but after mix all herbs onto powder pill form only take about 5-10g each time.
